누군가에게 하소연하고 싶은데 털어놓을 상대가 없어 힘들어하는 사람들이

전화를 걸어옵니다. 이야기를 듣다 보면, 전화기를 댄 귀가 자주 뜨끈뜨끈해집니다.

온 몸이 비비 꼬이는데도 꾹 참고 듣다 보면 진심으로 좋아합니다.

한 번은 어떤 아주머니가 삶의 애환을 넋두리처럼 늘어놓는데,

네 시간이 쏜살같이 지나갔습니다. 이제 전화를 끊어야 할 시간이라고 말씀드렸더니

마지막으로 나에게 노래를 한 곡 불러 주겠다면서 ‘여고시절’이란 노래를 불렀습니다.

고등학교 시절 친구들과 불렀던 노래인데 이제 남은 친구가

아무도 없다면서 고맙다는 인사로 통화를 마쳤습니다.

나도 모르게 가슴이 찡했습니다.

천사가 되는 것이 결코 대단한 일은 아닌 것 같습니다.

작고 사소하지만 상대의 마음을 보듬어주고 이해해 주기만 해도 충분한 것 같습니다.

전화 한통으로, 혹은 따뜻하게 잡은 손만으로도

우리는 모두 천사가 될 수 있음을 깨달은 시간이었습니다.

‘행복’이라는 글자의 행(幸)은 ‘다행 행’ 자입니다.

다행이라는 말은 지금의 상태를 긍정적으로 바라보는 의미를 지니고 있습니다.

무언가 좋은 방향으로 인생이 흐르는 것을 다행이라고 말할 수 있겠지만

거꾸로 좋지 않은 상황에서도 다행이라 부르는 것이 어색하지만은 않습니다.

‘나이가 들어서 다행이다.’

‘집이 작아서 다행이다.’

‘내가 부족해서 다행이다.’

라고 말을 붙여도 어색하지 않습니다.

내가 마음먹기에 따라 현실은 달라질 수 있기 때문입니다.

우리의 인생은 아무리 부정적인 상황에서도 긍정적인 요소를 찾을 수 있습니다.

그러나 자기를 부정하면 할수록 행복은 더 멀리 달아날 뿐입니다.

자신의 외모가 어떠하든지, 사는 모습이 어떠하든지 신경 쓰지 마십시오.

열등감이나 수치심을 버리고

있는 그대로의 자신을 받아들이고 사랑하는 것이 행복의 시작입니다.

오늘부터 ‘다행이다.’라는 말을 넣어서 이야기해 보세요.

아무리 힘들고 어려운 상황도 행복으로 가는 과정으로 느껴질 뿐

내 마음에 작은 생채기하나 내지 못할 것입니다.

‘나 같으면 은갈치를 친구에게 주겠다고 이 폭염을 이고 오지는 못할 거야.’

사람을 좋아 하는 것과 상대를 위해 희생한다는 것은 별개 문제가 아닐까?

그러나 한편으로 그런 경애가 한없이 부럽기도 했다.

철저한 개인주의로 달궈진 현대사회에서 남을 배려한다는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니다.

맛의 향연인 제주 은갈치로 이웃들과 함께 함박꽃을 피우면서...

‘행함이 없는 믿음은 죽은 것이니라.’ (야고보서 2:26)

오늘따라 이 성경구절이 나를 한없이 부끄럽게 한다.

오늘은 노후대책에 대해서 한마디 해본다.

평균수명이 늘면서 노후 대비의 중요성은 갈수록 커지고 있다.

2017년 금융복지조사에 의하면 은퇴에 대한 준비가 잘되어 있다는 응답은

9.3%에 불과하다. 노후에 대비해 투자는 하지만 자금을 모으지는 못하고 있다는 의미이다.

저축은 하지만 모아둔 자금을 생활비등 다른 목적으로 써버리기 때문이다.

노후에 대한 걱정이 있어도 " 자기통제 " 가 되지를 않으면 다른용도에 돈을 사용하기 쉽다고.

눈앞의 유혹이나 충동을 억제하고 그것에 저항하는 능력이 자기 통제력이다.

국민연금만으로 은퇴생활비를 완벽하게 마련할수는 없다지만

최소한의 기본생활비를 확보하는 데는 효과적이다.

그리고 직장인이라면 국민연금외에도 회사에서매달 적립했다가 퇴직할때주는

퇴직연금을 활용해서 노후 생활비를 마련 하는 것이 좋다요.

여기서 퇴직연금을 목돈으로 한꺼번에 받아 노후자금이 아닌 창업자금이나

자녀들의 결혼자금으로 써버리는 것을 경계해야 합니다.

나머지는 반드시 연금으로 수령하는 것이 바람직합니다.

국민연금과 퇴직연금으로도 노후생활이 부족할 가능성이 있기때문에

개인연금 가입이 절대적으로 필요하다 .

노벨경제학상 수상자인 대니얼 프린스턴대학 명예교수는 '"

사람들은 미래이익보다 현재의 이익을 과대평가하는 현재 편향을 보인다 "며

노후자금은 넣어두고 잊어야 한다고 맗했다.

즉 내돈이 아니것처럼 생각해야한다는 뜻이다.

은퇴후 행복한 우리들의 미래는 현재의 자기 통제력에 달려있다 .
